The developer for this exhibit had been using an old paddle and wanted to use a real bat because, well, it’s a SmashBat. I glued up some ash wood for that Louisville Slugger authenticity and made a cavity in the center for electronics and wiring. After an afternoon of wood turning we had the perfect bat for this fun exhibit.
